It’s movie review day, here at Glitter, Bliss, and Perfect Chaos. Well, sorta. So I didn’t actually see these movies today, but it is Friday. There are lots of movies that come out for the holiday season. Gives you somewhere to go hide when the kids are out of school for weeks at a time. “Hey kids, mommy and daddy are going to the movies! We’ll be back next week, um, I mean in a few hours.” So as you all know, I saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol last week. Loved it!! I also saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Umm? I thought Sherlock Holmes would top them both, so I saved it to see with the hubby. Hubby is not a huge fan of going to the movies. He’d just as soon watch movies at home. I only make him go when I’m sure the movie’s gonna be good.
Here’s the trailer:
The Verdict: Well, gee. This movie seemed to be loved by everyone in the theater but hubby and I. As I said, my son saw this movie and raved about the cinematography. I should have noticed that he didn’t rave about the movie itself. I judge a movie based on whether or not I’m entertained for a few hours. We were entertained, some. We left a houseful of teenagers at our house for two hours in the afternoon because we needed to get away. I was a little tired, had the sniffles, I’m really trying to make up excuses for why I didn’t get into this movie.
Parts of the movie were quite funny. And the funny parts made the movie entertaining. There were other times when I put my head on hubby’s shoulder and thought now would be the time for a nice little nap. About twenty minutes into the movie, hubby turned to me and said, I’m not impressed so far.
So there you have it. I should point out the ending is quite funny and the audience at the movie theater clapped and cheered like they had seen the best movie of their life. So if it looks good to you. Go see it. Enjoy it.
My date with this movie wore me out. I had really high expectations. Like my friends had been going on and on about him. Maybe if I would’ve went out with him with low expectations, I would’ve thought the date went better. At first, I was sorta bored and trying to figure out what all the fuss was about. I wondered if he was really so great, why hadn’t one of my friends snagged him yet? Then when I was about ready to figure out a way to ditch him, he said something that really made me laugh. He caught my interest. I think I’m a bit bipolar when it comes to him. He was quite funny or a total bore. I might catch up with him sometime again for a few laughs, but I won’t be stalking him for sure. Maybe he should of got me drunk.
Just a reminder of how we rank movies here at Glitter, Bliss, and Perfect Chaos:
One Star = Walk of shame. I was in last night’s dress, carrying my shoes as I rushed off. I can’t believe I wasted my time on him and pray no one I know sees me.
Two Stars = Bad date. He didn’t really do anything wrong, we just didn’t have any chemistry. Maybe he just wasn’t my type. I probably won’t answer if he calls.
Three Stars =Hookup. We had a great night together. Don’t know if it will be more than that, but it was sure fun while it lasted.
Four Stars = Stalking him. What a night! We danced, we kissed. Now if I could just get him to call me.
Five Stars = Happily ever after. I love him! I want to marry him, have his babies, and live happily ever after.
And since, surprisingly, there were no hot shirtless men in this movie, and since we’re in the holiday spirit here at Glitter, Bliss, and Perfect Chaos, we’ll leave you with our favorite little Santa cutie. Like he’s my screensaver right now. Just cuz I love the holidays so much, and my spirit for it is like so big. And maybe I like to drool over his pretty face and sexy body and picture him coming down my chimney. I’m off now to unwrap his package. Um, I mean, off to wrap my packages. Like all the Christmas gifts I bought.
Ho, ho ho!!

I really do my blog for readers, not really for other authors, so I don’t think I’d ever discuss pricing on my blog. I do have very strong opinions on it, however. If you’d like to discuss, just email me at thatboyjilliandodd (at) gmail (.com) And thanks so much for the congrats!! It has been an exciting couple of months!! Like I’ve been truly shocked and blessed by That Boy’s success. I’m a combination of super excited and terrified to get the sequel out!
Well, it was entertaining while it lasted, to a degree. I like Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law’s dynamic. I probably wouldn’t watch it again though.
Yeah, it was entertaining, just didn’t love it.
Dang, dang, and double dang. I didn’t watch the first Sherlock (don’t know why, it just didn’t look that good) and I was excited about this one. Well, guess it’s a rental. At least we have that sexy santa dude to look at!
Huh, how disappointing. I’m going to see it today and I thought the previews made it look good. Though, I thought that about the first one, and it wasn’t impressive. Oh well. I wanted to see Mission Impossible, but the person I’m going with didn’t want to. Too bad for them. 😛
